"Les Misérbillies"

It had been a while, but as you might expect, it IS just like riding a bike... without the pedaling, and, of course, without a bike.

BikerBouncer, Jimmy, Mrs. Jimmy, Jimlet, Marie, JoAnn.. the whole cast was assembled and the production scheduled for that evening was "Les Misérbillies".

No KG OR Matchbox Kenny... but in their place were the Muppet Babies version of them - in the form of Lil'K to the G (KG's middle kid) and some guy that looked like the Muppet Baby version of Matchbox Kenny.

Old friends and new friends. Lisap and I arrived to be greated by Mr. Brett and his girlfriend Masha. Beers were shared, memories were made. Next came Joe and Rhonda at about the same time as the Sam Adams Beer Taster Guy (Sam Adams? Karaoles?!). Anyone who participated in a "taste test" received a bottleopener/keyring. Next in waltzed in The Alien as pretty as you pleased. And finally "Vlad". Vlad was promptly recruited to sing "backup" for an aggressive older guy who demanded to know if he had ever heard of Roy Orbison! Later the same aggressive older guy was seen to peform with an entire backing vocal group consisting of people who were not exactly sure where they were let alone who Roy Orbison was.

It was a very quiet and layed back night... the same 3 people sang 20 songs before we even got up there. Lots of older people. I think the Casino Bus got lost on the way to Joliet. We basically hung out, drank beers and "performed" not much else to report.

THE LINE UP
The Alien: RING OF FIRE (shamelessly effective pandering)
Mr. Brett: AMERICAN IDIOT (given the age of audience it was their first but enthusiastic introduction to Green Day)
Rhonda: (chose to sit this one out)
Joe: (chose to sit this one out)
Lisap: HELP (well received)
Chris: THE TIMES THEY ARE A-CHANGING (along with the key and time signature)

You've Got to Know the Song You K

(inspired by YOU'VE GOT TO HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY by the BEATLES)

Here I stand mic in hand
With my back to the wall
forgot the song I can't go on
Feelin' two-foot small

Back out there they all stare
As they drink their beer
I can see them point at me
And I hear them jeer

Hey, you've got to know the song you K
Hey, you've got to know the song you K

I can't try to deny
the state that I'm in
The last three, has left me
Three sheets to the wind

How could KG desert me
Leave me this-a way
I'll mumble on the rest the song
As I hear you say

Hey, you've got to know the song you K
Hey, you've got to know the song you K
