I Guess That's Why They Give Mark the Booze
A duel event:
1. K @ K's on R
2. Mark's B-day.
Both compatible? Absolutely, I believe they both woke next to each other this morning... and ()... yeah... It WASN'T weird.
Arrived to a new and challenging K Konfiguration - sitting at the tables near the "stage" as apposed to cowering behind the far bar. All and all, the effect was novel if not down right pleasing.
Lots of new faces and lots of old faces. Jimlet was put to good use early, but reverted quickly to the standard Order-Straight-From-Jimmy model.
Not a lot to say, since Mark was the birthday boy a long snaking paceline of a rotation was established early and ruthlessly enforced by Matchbox Kenny
Highlights included Katie's doing "her best MJ".
Speaking of Katie - she captured the accompanying image in Lady Hell. I have edited the image for the Faint of Heart. I leave to your imagination what evidence of what accident was left concealed beneath my "WHOOPS!" sign.
Unfortunately, it was a short evening for me but I fear others spent much quality time at the mic doing what they do the best - "perform" other peoples' hits as faithfully as one can using a television and a really bad instrumental copy of that hit. That's entertainment!
THE LINE UP
The Alien: (Unfortunately missed his performance - though it might have occurred either in the future or the past, in any case I missed it being stuck in linear time)
Birthday Mark: I GUESS THAT'S WHY THEY CALL IT THE BLUES
Rhonda: LET'S GO CRAZY
Katie: (I think I must have been in Hell part of the time because I can't think of the title, but I know the performance was sincere and mold breaking)
Ryan: GLORIA
Mr Brett: SUBSTITUTE
Dave: THAT'S LIFE
Lisaf: IN MY LIFE (I'VE LOVED THEM ALL)
Chris: SOMETHING

that'd be Neil Diamond's AMERICA, and yes, it was indeed moldbreaking, thankyouverymuch.
Best blog post title ever. Thanks for contributing to the fun and letting us radically alter the usual K @ K's landscape for one night. Glad you approved of the change in seating.
@kt OF COURSE!! AMERICA!! (hitting self on head could-a-had-a-V8-style)
