No Physically Uncomfortable Encounters

It was the best kind of night... quiet... Jimmy at the helm... Mrs. Jimmy staring off into space and/or looking at me. Jimlet doing whatever it is that she does best... Matchbox Kenny (No KG) thus no physically uncomfortable encounters... ahhhh... relaxation. Even Magoo-san seemed homey and familiar. If only BikerBouncer, Joanne and Marie could have been there... I don't know if there is a Rock and Roll Heaven but they must have one horrible band if that is where Marie and Joanne are.

It was good to see the old band of Karaolers there and doing what they do best... consuming beer. Was it me or was the High Life especially Champagney of Beers last night? Lisaf was especially swaddled for the occasion wearing more than the usual layers of clothing for performance. Good thing - it turned out to be a handy Magoo-san-barrier.

Rhonda and Katie were there to make everything bright. Ryan was there to make everything even brighter

Alden (from now on forever known as "Ale"den to this blog - due to the endearing incompetence of Matchbox Kenny) and Kristen brought a sense of professionalism to our efforts. Always good to strive for more than you have previously achieved.. I guess.

The crowd was pretty low key and typical... Suburban Country Western enthusiasts... and trustfund hipsters... My favorite Hipsters were the Danzig-meets-Beach-Boys guy and the Suzie-Quatro-girl.

What can I say... nice tight rotations... not a lot of jamming... decent audience participation... just good clean fun.

THE LINE UP
The Alien: RING OF FIRE by JOHNNY CASH (claimed as a Brian I/Brian II mixup - I say "pandering!")
Lisaf: DREAMIN' by BLONDIE, VACATION by THE GOGOs
Rhonda: 9-TO-5 by DOLLY PARTON, SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO by THE CLASH
Ryan: LIDO SHUFFLE by BOZ SKAGGS (crowd pleaser), NEVER SAY GOODBYE by BON JOVI
Kristen: CALL ME by BLONDIE, HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF by DURAN DURAN - both LFA! (LisaF Approved!)
"Ale"den: I RAN by FLOCK OF SEAGULLS (LFA!), R.O.C.K. IN THE USA by JCM
Chris: OKIE FROM MUSKOGEE by MERLE HAGGARD, SIX DAYS ON THE ROAD by DAVE DUDLEY
Katie: (just missed her performance - but her Best Jagger is, in fact, THE Best Jagger - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdqMFxDyLMI)

@rachelleb:

there's nothing wrong with having staples in your repertoire. old man frye had to go to bed before i did blue monday. and way before me and kristen duetted NEVERENDING STORY, which i'm sure has never been peformed in that venue before. most of the crowd was completely stunned before the interpretive dancers got started.
